Life Post Lockdown

Lockdown imposed due to pandemic has in some ways thrown our lives out of gear. It seems that we have to re-start ourselves to get back to the hustle and bustle of the lives that we had 3 months ago. These last 3 months appear like a time machine that has taken all of us a little back. We, at one of the Best Schools in Noida, all are aware of the maxim that time is the greatest healer and change is the law of nature so now the time for change has come wherein we will have to go back to our previous schedules and routine and work with additional vigour to make up for what we have lost or missed during the last three months.

Everyone is aware that the COVID pandemic has created a global upheaval but humans being resilient in nature will bounce back and establish themselves one again. Nonetheless, this worldwide contagion has given us a message of caution that is if we are careful, if we abide by all the laid down rules and regulations, we can be safe when we move out of the safe environs of our homes.

Even after the lockdown ends, whenever we are out of our homes and in public places, we still need to maintain protections and the first and foremost among them being respiratory hygiene. Respiratory hygiene is covering our mouth with a tissue while coughing or sneezing, thereafter throwing the used tissue in a covered dustbin and immediately washing our hands minimum for 20 seconds and if by any chance, we cannot wash our hands then we must immediately use sanitizer on our hands.

Although the curve of the disease may be flattening it’s not eradicated so we must wear a mask whenever venturing out of the house. Mask will not only protect us but will give be a safeguard against this highly transmissible disease.

Another precaution that we must follow at all times is to maintain physical distance. We will be very excited to meet our friends or colleagues after so many days but we need to be vigilant and keep our emotional and social connections in check. We essentially must greet everyone with folded hands rather than a firm handshake or embrace. As it is said distance makes the heart go fonder so maintain a distance but you can still stay connected with your friends, family and acquainted through various social platforms.

It is equally important to clean and disinfect table tops, door handles/knobs, keyboards, phones, switches etc. whenever using them as these are also an inordinate source of dissemination of disease.

The end of the lockdown does not mean that everything would return to normalcy almost immediately. It will take time so be a little more patient. Although the rules may be relaxed post lockdown still it may not be feasible to plan a party with friends and family or go on a vacation. Such planning may expose you and your family to contagion so stay at home for a few more months and stay safe as a precaution is the need of the hour.

We, at ASPAM Scottish, among the best Schools in Noida, believe that one of the positive aspects of our fight against COVID -19 is that it has instilled in all of us basic hygiene practices and post lockdown we should not forget or shun these practices. It has been said time and again that good immunity and good hygiene are the best warriors against any kind of infection or viruses. So let’s all promise to ourselves to inculcate the habit of carrying a kit having a soap bar/soap strips, a pair of glove, face mask, a small bottle of sanitizer and tissue papers as and when we move out.

Also as parents and caregivers, it is our prime responsibility to prepare, sensitize and train our children about the precautions they still need to follow post lockdown when they would be going to meet their friends, go out to play or for that matter resume their school with regular timings.

In the words of Jorge Cruise, ‘Setbacks are only challenges in disguise. Look at them as lessons . . . don’t waste time beating yourself up. Just get back on track and focus on what you want. It’s up to you, and you will do it!’

So post lockdown, when you move out of your home follow all requisite precautions and be safe.
